Q What is Pima cotton?

A Pima cotton is a very fine and soft cotton which is grown under natural conditions in Peru. Our garments are made from hand-picked Pima cotton, which being so soft, is ideal for baby garments. It is also a cool, breathable fabric which avoids overheating for young babies, yet is warm enough to keep your baby comfortable.


Q Where can I purchase mini-la-mode items if I wish to visit a shop or retail store?

Q How can I be sure about selecting the right size for my baby?

A We understand that this can sometimes be difficult to get right. Please see our size guide which aims to guide you as to the most suitable size for your baby or toddler, dependent on your child’s height and weight. If you happen to purchase a size which turns out not to suit, we will be happy to exchange this for you (please refer to our returns policy section).


Q What happens if I am not at home when my order is delivered?

A We use reputable courier companies such as Fedex and UPS to deliver to our customers. They all operate with parcel tracking systems to locate your order at any stage. If there is nobody at the delivery address to receive the order, the courier company will normally leave a card for you to contact them to arrange a suitable delivery time during normal working hours.


Q Will my online card payment be secure?

A Yes, our payment gateway system is based on the latest Verifone secure payment technology using secure encrypted processing to ensure that all customers’ card details are secure and fully protected.


Q What currencies do you accept for payment?

A At present our system is set up to handle payments in GBP only. We may review this in future to offer additional payment currencies. Most non-UK cards will be acceptable for transactions in GBP even if the base currency is another such as US Dollars or Euros: the currency conversion is managed via the customer’s bank.


Q What does it mean if my credit card is declined?

A There can be a number of reasons for this. It is often because the details entered into our system do not match those held by your bank: so please check the card number, security code (CVV), and that the name and address details you provide when placing your order match the details held by your bank. If there is still an issue, we would suggest that you contact your bank as they will be able to tell you why a particular card has been declined.


Q What is the billing address?

A This is the address which your card issuing bank has as the record of your address. It is important that the details you enter into our system match those held by your bank.


Q Can I place an order by phone?

Q Is it better to create an account on your system?

A We would recommend that all customers create an account. This will enable you to process your orders easier and faster, to let you see the details of previous orders and to check the status of current orders. You will also be able to amend your personal details at any time.


Q Can I wash the cotton baby garments in a machine?

A Yes, they are machine washable, but please ensure you follow the instructions on the care label attached to the garment. In particular, the washing temperature should not be too hot. We recommend washing at 30C, and drying naturally – do not tumble dry from wet to avoid shrinkage.


Q Are the mini-la-mode garments produced according to ethical and sustainable environmental standards?

A Yes, the garments are hand-embroidered and we take care to ensure that this is carried out under ethical working and pay conditions in our factories. In addition, our production operations and supply chain operates in compliance with sustainable environmental standards throughout.


Q If I am not satisfied with the overall service provided, who do I contact?
